Touchstone Mental Health is a well-respected Minnesota 501(c) (3) nonprofit with over 30 years of experience in assisting adults over 18 years of age to address significant mental health problems. Martha Lantz, Executive Director leads the 5M organization with the support of an 10-member board, a leadership team consisting of a Director of Development, Director of Finance/Administration, Health & Wellness Director, Director of Operations, and approximately 160 employees by the opening of their newest facility July 1, 2013.

The organization believes that people with Severe Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) or serious mental illnesses have the right to live in safety, with dignity, and as healthfully as possible. Since Touchstone Mental Health was founded in 1982, it have brought cutting-edge ideas and programming to Twin Cities residents who have been diagnosed with SPMI and severe mental illness.

Touchstone was the first organization in Minnesota to:

•open and operate an assisted living facility for people with SPMI.
•incorporate integrative therapies (acupuncture, healing touch, physical exercise such as yoga, etc.) in treatment for people living with serious mental illness and/or SPMI.
•create intentional communities among groups of clients to help them build supportive and enduring relationships with people who understand the joys and challenges they share.

Strong partnerships with agencies in the 7-Country Metro area, the State of Minnesota, insurers, and our local network of mental health and social service providers help Touchstone maximize its impact. Staff members participate in the Minnesota Association for Mental Health Residential Facilities, Minnesota Association of Community Mental Health Programs, Hennepin County Adult Mental Health Local Advisory Council, and other groups. Touchstone also has long-standing partnerships with colleges and universities, and with dozens of nonprofit and government programs through which our clients meet education, employment, health, and housing goals. With our current capital project, Touchstone is expanding its five-year relationship with Project for Pride in Living, which manages Touchstone’s current Assisted Living building in New Hope, Minnesota.
Our Position

Touchstone Mental Health is looking for a nursing leader to drive overall programming for the organization's first-of-its-kind Health & Wellness Center.

Candidates must possess the necessary skills to successfully introduce new and innovative ideas that are centered on treating adults living with mental health; and will be driving programming and evaluation protocols that are centered on treating clients from a holistic approach. This leader will also have a partial case load of direct client care. Core responsibilities:

Develop health and wellness programming to be used across the entire organization, with a priority to develop programs related to the newly-formed Health & Wellness Center.

Collaborate with program directors, staff, clients and outside relations to create and implement programming.

Direct capacity building team to plan programming for new department.

Collaborate closely to with the Development Director to pursue and secure funding for the program.

Collaborate closely with the Operations Director and Finance Director to create budgeting around agency health and wellness programming and new Health & Wellness Center.

Establish research and program evaluation protocols.

Strengthen and create systems, tools, processes, procedures and protocols necessary for successful resource development.

Establish measurement criteria for H&W outcomes.

Coordinate training and education processes for agency staff regarding Health & Wellness with Operations Director.

Incorporate staff wellness aspects and become internal champion for staff wellness.

Provide the highest quality of customer service consistent with TMH's values and standards.

Foster and maintain an empowering culture that encourages individuality, diversity, flexibility, creativity and teamwork.

Promote leadership qualities throughout the agency by challenging others to develop as leaders while serving as role model or mentor.

Develop and maintain external relations to promote the mission of Touchstone Mental Health.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:

Our candidate has an entrepreneurial energy balanced with a results-focused leadership style; an individual interested in working in an organization that is recognized for its unrivaled programming innovation. Ideally, a nurse practitioner, whose career later segued towards the program development side of an organization. This professional has an intuition for creating new strategies around leading-edge programming in their field. He/she should also have earned a reputation of developing strong healthcare relationships and long-time community partnerships in the healthcare arena.
Additional qualifications:

•A Registered Nurse, NP or CNS
•Experience in managed care, primary care or health & wellness settings.
•Track record for program development experience.
•Minimum five years upper management experience.
•Experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
•Advanced knowledge of serious and persistent mental illness and related treatment modalities.
•Knowledge of management practices and organizational leadership.
